In Botkyrka municipality, south of Stockholm, is the Brantbrink sports centre, which includes an ice rink, football fields and jogging tracks. The municipality is currently upgrading their lighting to LED and the next step in this modernisation was to update the lighting in the Brantbrink ice rink.

Previously, the ice rink was lighted with older fixtures that used 3x49mm fluorescent tubes that constantly needed to be replaced. In addition to the municipality's requirements for LED lighting, a dimmable solution was also required. The choice fell on Helags in combination with smart control from Helvar. Helags is a luminaire that offers high luminous flux, which creates a pleasant and even light over the entire pitch while providing good glare control. The luminaire is also certified according to DIN 57710-13. By combining Helags with Helvar's smart control, it is now possible to flexibly adapt the lighting to specific needs and activities. This not only improves the visitors' experience but also contributes to increased energy efficiency. Örnsberg El och Data was responsible for the installation and found the installation easy and smooth to work with and they are very pleased with both Aura Light's support and the final result.
 

- The support has been excellent. The seller was on the spot to go through all the requirements and then passed on the information to the lighting designer. The seller then came back with a quote and a completed lighting calculation. The process was quick and smooth. It makes it easier for us to know that we deliver lighting that fulfils the requirements of the facility," says Andreas, project manager at Örnsberg El och Data.

Helags delivered sufficient light level and uniformity throughout the facility with fewer luminaires compared to before, which will result in significant energy savings.

- We are very pleased with the lighting and we have only heard positive feedback about the improvement of the hall. We are also happy and grateful not to have to replace fluorescent tubes as frequently as before," says Peter, Operations Manager at Brantbrink Sports Centre.
