More than 3,700 new luminaires for Danske Bank’s headquarters in Helsinki – for increased energy efficiency, improved light quality, and a better atmosphere.
Together with our Finnish partner “Teclux Oy”, we were elected to equip Danske Bank in Helsinki with new lighting – a business where not only structure, data, and regulations are crucial, but also energy efficiency. The project, carried out in 2025, focused on replacing old T5 fluorescent tubes with modern LED luminaires to improve energy efficiency. Over the cause of about a year more than 3,700 new luminaires equipped with DALI2 sensors were installed in office areas, corridors, and common spaces. In office areas with suspended ceilings, recessed panel luminaires of the model Aura Lunaria G7 (600x600) were installed. In areas with fixed ceilings, pendant luminaires of the model Ceos EVO were chosen instead- both models are part of our Premium range. These luminaires were selected to meet the client’s requirements for a lighting environment with an illuminance level of 500 lux, a glare rating (UGR) of no more than 19, and uniform, glare-free light.
But why did Danske Bank chose products from Aura Light?
Decisive factors were the products’ long lifespan, favorable warranty terms, and reduced energy consumption. Thanks to the newly installed lighting solution, Danske Bank now saves approximately 126,000 kWh of electricity annualy, resulting in yearly costs savings of around SEK 189,000. In addition, the reduced energy consumption lowers the company's carbon footprint by approximately 2.5 tonnes of CO₂ per year. Other functions such as dimming, presence detection, as well as uniform and glare-free light, in combination with time and daylight control, also played an important role in the decision. To ensure the right decision, a six-month pilot phase was carried out, during which four different suppliers were tested side by side. The result was clear: increased energy efficiency thanks to DALI2 control, reduced lighting power through the new LED luminaires, and a significantly improved lighting environment perceived as both fresher and more modern – something that now is reflecting in satisfied employees and increased well-being.
