Better lighting for everyone at Nedre Bekkelaget Skole

When the Nedre Bekkelaget School was creating a universal design for the school, the lighting needed to be evaluated and upgraded to improve lighting in the classrooms and in public spaces such as corridors, stairwells, and toilets. Universal design means that everything has to be adapted and the learning environment has to be accessible to everyone, even those furthest away.

After an upgrade from traditional lighting to new luminaires from Aura Light, Nedre Bekkelaget Skole has gained better and more adapted light in its premises and simultaneously reduced its energy consumption.

- We have replaced old fluorescent luminaires with new LED panels in classrooms and corridors and upgraded toilets and stairwells with new LED luminaires. In our sports hall, we have installed energy-efficient LED lamps with ball protection", says caretaker Øistein Hermansen.

Replacing traditional lighting with new energy-efficient lighting has not only created a more pleasant environment with better light for students and staff at Nedre Bekkelaget Skole. It has also contributed to energy savings of 50%.
