Climate-smart thinking is the future

Sustainability is a guiding principle for us at Aura Light. We constantly strive for improvements in several areas. To make the biggest difference for the climate, we deliver our customers as energy-efficient and sustainable lighting solutions as possible. Good lighting is important for health and well-being, and low energy consumption contributes to a better planet.
“With our own development department and production unit in Vimmerby, we have great opportunities to create luminaires with the lowest possible carbon footprint. Kleva is a good example of this, as the luminaire is sustainable in several aspects, for instance, the dimensions of the product, including its length, width, and cross-section, have been carefully planned to maximize its placement efficiency on a pallet during transportation. It is highly energy-efficient, consists of as little virgin material as possible, and is designed to be easily upgradeable in the future”, says Caroline Holmgren, Marketing Manager at Aura Light.
Replacing old fluorescent lamps with Kleva reduces the carbon footprint and energy consumption by at least 50% over the lifespan of the luminaire. Additionally, choosing modern sensor technology further reduces energy usage. The body is made of 75% recycled aluminum and the cover is constructed from an organic, climate-neutral PC plastic. The components in Kleva are also easily replaceable during maintenance, and when the product reaches the end of its life, all components can easily be disassembled and recycled.
We also work on sustainability issues in other areas where we see that we can make a difference.
“During the summer, Aura Light joined the Science Based Targets Initiative as a private company, aiming to set targets for reducing carbon emissions in accordance with the Paris Agreement and the 1.5-degree goal. We have also conducted a materiality analysis and are actively engaged with three of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals: Goals 7, 9, and 12, which focus on contributing to green energy, innovation, and sustainable consumption”, concludes Caroline.
