To minimize our climate footprint as much as possible, we have developed a luminaire housing made of sustainable aluminium for Helags. In collaboration with Hydro, we have chosen to work with Circal, a product that consists of at least 75% recycled aluminium. By using recycled material, the need for extracting new raw materials is reduced, which in turn significantly lowers energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Circal has an emission of only 1.9 kg CO2 per kg of aluminium. This can be compared to traditional primary aluminium production, which typically has an emission of approximately 16.7 kg CO2 per kg of aluminium.

The choice of materials and components is important in the development process of new products. Sustainability lies in our DNA, and in the development of a new product, we look at how we can make a difference from a sustainability perspective. Choosing energy-efficient and sustainable components and materials that have a lower environmental impact is a matter of course for us. Helags is our latest example where the environment is in focus.
