Modern IP44 luminaire designed with focus on sustainability

2023 09 21

The recently launched Kleva, developed by Aura Light's product team in Vimmerby, is a modern and minimalistic IP44-rated lighting fixture with high performance. From concept to the final product, excellent lighting characteristics, sustainability, and energy efficiency have been the key factors reflected in the end result. The luminaire has a low carbon footprint. Kleva is versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications, from general spaces to industrial and warehouse environments. Its name is inspired by Kleva beach, part of the world heritage site in southern Öland, Sweden.

Kleva is a modern IP44-rated luminaire with a contemporary design language. Equipped with a newly developed LED light source and state-of-the-art reflector technology, Kleva is highly energy-efficient while providing optimal lighting comfort. Its design allows for placement in non-traditional IP44 environments, with its slightly rounded yet distinctive form making it suitable for general spaces and adjacent areas to offices. At the same time, its IP44-rated casing equips it for demanding environments like industrial facilities. Kleva is easy to install and comes with accessories for ceiling-mounted click-function, wall-mounting brackets, or suspended mounting using wires.
“Kleva is a high-quality luminaire with a long lifespan and high luminous efficacy, leading to installations with highly positive energy calculations. By replacing old fluorescent light fixtures with Kleva, you reduce your climate footprint and energy consumption by at least 50% during its lifetime. Furthermore, the luminaire can be equipped with modern sensor technology to further reduce energy consumption. With its compact design and low weight, it also boasts a low carbon footprint,” says Stefan Pettersson, product developer at Aura Light.
Sustainability has been a guiding thread throughout the entire product development process. This means minimizing the use of virgin materials in the product and adjusting its size for efficient transportation on pallets. The material choices have been made with environmental considerations in mind, and all components included in Kleva are manufactured in Northern Europe for shorter transport distances.
“Kleva consists of 75% recycled aluminum, and its casing is constructed from an organic, climate-neutral PC plastic. Our suppliers are highly knowledgeable and at the forefront of environmental and technological advancements,” concludes Stefan Pettersson. All components in Kleva are easily replaceable during maintenance, and when the product reaches the end of its life, all parts can be disassembled and recycled with ease. This makes Kleva a sustainable product throughout its entire value chain.

Aura Light's self-developed luminaires in Vimmerby are named after nature-inspired locations, preferably in our local surroundings. Kleva takes its name from the magnificent beach in southern Öland, part of the world's natural heritage site. Learn more about Kleva:  https://www.auralight.com/en/focus/kleva
