Energy savings and improved well-being at HP’s Sweden office

HP is an international company and manufacturer of PCs, printers and servers. ISS Facility Services is one of the largest facility management companies in the Nordics. Together they started a lighting project with the purpose to save energy. They installed LED products and sensors from Aura Light to achieve energy-optimized lighting in HP’s office.

The evaluation process

Jan Åberg, who is coordinator for safety and work environment at ISS, evaluated various suppliers of LED products and sensors together with HP. In the evaluation process, Aura Light’s products proved to be best.

”The products meet all the requirements we have”. In the evaluation process the products were assessed after the following criteria: light, price and comfort. Jan Åberg is very positive to work with a total lighting supplier who can help them with guidance.

”Already from the start I was convinced that the lighting would improve and now I can confirm that we really got value for money.”
ISS have installed the LED panels Aura Lunaria Pro and Aura Lunaria Pendulum.

”The LED panel is maintanance free and easy and quick to install compared to other similar models”, says Jan Åberg.

Other products that have been installed is the LED downlight Aura Conspecto Soft and the exchangeable LED light source Aura CompoLED Long Life. In addition, ISS have installed lighting control, using the Universal PIR sensor from Aura Light to maximize the energy savings.

50 % energy savings and improved lighting

Now they save about 50 % energy in HP’s premises compared to their old lighting solution and the light level has increased with about 30 %.

”I have even been told that several employees at HP do not need glasses or table lighting anymore. They find that the lighting is much better in the premises and the work environment has improved”, says Jan Åberg.

Even the maintenance costs have been reduced for HP and Jan explains:

”Now we avoid replacing light sources as often as before. We have only a three to four year payback time with our new LED solution. The employees at HP are extremely satisfied.”

An investment in sustainability and well-being

”Our change of lighting is absolutely a way to invest in sustainability and a way to optimize the energy use. It is great that the new lighting had better effect on employee well-being than we thought”, says Jan Åberg, ISS Facility Services.
