The Stockholmmässan is the Nordic region's largest fair center for trade fairs, events and conferences, and events of all types and categories are arranged here every year. Unique meeting rooms, holistic concepts and sustainability work are some of the Stockholm Fair's key words to ensure customer satisfaction.

The Stockholmsmässan houses four large halls for larger fairs and events as well as a restaurant, several foyers and similar smaller rooms. The large halls range from 6754 m2 all the way up to 25,900m2 with a ceiling height of 15.5 m. Illuminating such large halls requires highly efficient luminaires that should, above all, work as smoothly as possible given its awkward location.

- We got new energy and efficiency requirements almost two years ago, says Benke, installer at Stockholmsmässans elfika. In connection with this, the decision was made to upgrade and future-proof the lighting with LED. In addition, we had problems with having to replace broken fluorescent lamps all too often.

The then newly launched industrial luminaire Sarek was selected for Hall A, the largest exhibition hall of the four.At the same time they chose to go for a DALI solution to enable as efficient and adaptable lighting solution as possible. It is easy to control and regulate the lighting when and where it's necessary so that no lighting is switched on unnecessarily. In addition, it has been possible to reduce the effect on Sarek by almost 20% and still achieve a satisfactory lux level at ground level, despite a ceiling height of 15.5 meters. This contributes to additional energy savings and also an extended service life of Sarek. The exhibition hall's workshops have also received upgraded lighting with the Z44, a universal luminaire with IP44 rating.

- The first time the guys went into the workshop after we installed the Z44, they were completely shocked, they could not believe it was the same place! It can never be too bright in workshops and with the Z44 it has really become bright and fresh. The installation was simple and we have not experienced any operating errors at all. We are very pleased, Benke concludes.

The next step with optimizing the energy efficiency in the Stockholmsmässan is to continue upgrading to LED.

- We have received really good help from Aura Light and I appreciate that they are so solution-oriented and energetic, says Benke. The aim is now to continue with Sarek in the remaining halls, but also in the garage.
