Aura T5 Eco Saver Long Life is a tri-phosphor lamp with a very good colour rendering and ideally suited for applications that need high light output. It is a Long Life fluorescent lamp developed to save energy. Your energy consumption could be up to 10% lower than when using a standard T5 fluorescent lamp in existing luminaires, and with the long life-feature it will also render you a reduction in maintenance cost. To be able to cash in on a lower energy consumption the electronic ballast used need to be current-controlled. With power-controlled electronic ballasts the lamp instead increases its light level, up to 10%. When using dimming ballasts it is necessary to operate the lamp at full level (100%) for 100 hours in order to stabilise the lamp and to reach the full potential of its lifetime.

Aura T5 Eco Saver Long Life is suitable for operation in luminaires where a slightly higher temperature occurs, the maximum for a T5 lamp occurs at an ambient temperature of +35°C. It fits in all luminaires developed and assembled for T5 (16 mm) fluorescent lamps. It is a high colour rendering tri-phosphor lamp (Ra 85) and is available in several colours. According to IEC/EN 60081, the service life of the lamp failure rate and the lumen depreciation is calculated based on the lamp being operated with a switching cycle of three hours. The three hour switching cycle is defines as having the lamp switched on for two hours and 45 minutes and then switched off for 15 minutes. A switching cycle that is more close to common use is the 12 hour switching cycle, this is defined as having the lamp switched on for 11 hours and then switched off for one hour. The lifetime shown is accounted for 10% mortality rate.

Installation

The Aura T5 Eco Saver Long Life-range is designed for operation with electronic ballast (preferably warm start). To be able to cash in on up to 10% lower energy consumption the electronic ballast used need to be current-controlled. With power-controlled electronic ballasts the lamp instead increases its light level, up to 10%. When using dimming ballasts it is necessary to operate the lamp at full level (100%) for 100 hours in order to stabilise the lamp and to reach the full potential of its lifetime. A lamps service life is defined as the elapsed time when the amount of light in an installation reaches 80% of its initial 100-hour value.
