Aura Light reduces costly changes for Sundsvall Hospital
Sundsvall Hospital wanted to reduce the maintenance costs. That’s why they chose Aura Long Life. “It’s far too expensive to have people changing fluorescent lamps all the time”.
Sundsvall Hospital, with an area of 250,000 m², is the county hospital in Västernorrland’s County Council. The hospital has been in operation since 1975. There are 50,000 fluorescent lamps in Sundsvall Hospital alone, and between 70,000-80,000 fluorescent lamps when including the general practices and dentists in Medelpad. Add to this the hospitals in Sollefteå, Härnösand and Örnsköldsvik, and that number is doubled.
Aura Long Life reduces costly changes
Roine Backlund at Sundsvall Hospital explains that changing fluorescent lamps can be costly.
“It’s far too expensive to have people changing fluorescent lamps all the time. It’s so important for the light to work at all times that if a fluorescent lamp fails, the staff on call can be asked to come in. Naturally, such out-of-hours replacements are very expensive. Every postponement that can be made represents a valuable financial savings”.
Agreement with Aura Light
Previously, Sundsvall Hospital purchased light sources from several wholesalers, including Aura Light. Then, in March 2006, an agreement for all light sources was entered into with Aura Light. Sundsvall Hospital and the hospitals in Sollefteå, Härnösand and Örnsköldsvik participated in the purchasing process together. The competition between many electrical wholesalers was tough.
“Aura Light had the lowest price and this was the deciding factor”, Roine Backlund explains .
