Aura supplies street lighting to Tranemo municipality

Aura, the lighting company, has been awarded the task of supplying Long Life light sources for all street lighting by Tranemo municipality. The lamps have a guaranteed lifetime of 12 years and the saving in maintenance costs is significantly greater than the actual investment in light sources, while reducing environmental impact. The contract is for two years.

Aura supplies Long Life light sources that last at least three times as long as standard products on the market. It saves both money and the environment, since only a third of all potential light source replacements are needed. The environmental impact is reduced by two thirds when it comes to production, transportation, and waste, etc.

Tranemo municipality has decided to modernise the street lighting and is only purchasing Long Life high-pressure sodium lamps. The lamps have a guaranteed lifetime of 12 years, which is why maintenance costs are reduced dramatically. The replacement costs for lighting in very highly-trafficked areas are high.

“For us at Tranemo municipality, it is important to choose environmentally-friendly light sources and to save a lot in maintenance costs, which is why we have exclusively chosen Aura’s Long Life light,” says Mats Kindlund, a street engineer with Tranemo municipality.

“Our Long Life light sources always provide savings in maintenance costs that are greater than the cost of the light sources, and it is particularly pleasing that an environmentally-aware municipality such as Tranemo has chosen our products. Together, we can minimise environmental impact by since only a third of all potential light source replacements are needed,” comments Martin Malmros, CEO and Group Director at Aura Light International AB.
