Aura commences cooperation with The Natural Step

Lighting company Aura has commenced cooperation with The Natural Step. The aim is to work together for a sustainable society with sustainable development.

Today is the Sustainability Leadership Challenge 2008, where Aura’s Group Director Martin Malmros will speak about Sustainable Lighting. Around 130 international decision-makers and researchers are gathering at Djurgården in Stockholm to discuss sustainable development. Carl XVI Gustaf, the king of Sweden, is just one of the participants. The aim is to identify networks for new solutions within sustainable development. The event is being organised by a research alliance between Blekinge Institute of Technology, Lund University and The Natural Step.

Aura supplies Long Life light sources that are guaranteed to last at least three times as long as standard products on the market. As a result, customers can save both money and the environment, since only a third of all potential light source replacements are actually needed. In addition, the environmental impact is reduced to a third when it comes to production, transportation, and waste, etc.

“I am firmly convinced that environmentally-friendly products also need to follow the rules of the market,” comments Martin Malmros, CEO and Group Director at Aura Light International AB. “This means that you should be saving money when purchasing environmentally-friendly products, which is the case with Aura’s Long Life light sources.”

“It’s great to see that a Swedish innovation company such as Aura has high ambitions when it comes to sustainable development,” comments Karl-Henrik Robèrt, founder of The Natural Step. “We are looking forward to continued good cooperation for many years in order to meet the challenges that climate change, etc. has placed before us.
