Aura supplies street lighting to Karlskrona municipality

The Aura lighting company, with development, production and customer service in Karlskrona, has been awarded the task of supplying Long Life light sources for street lighting by Karlskrona municipality. The lamps have a guaranteed service life of 12 years and generally offer savings in maintenance costs that are greater than the actual investment in light sources, while the environmental impact is also minimised.

Aura supplies Long Life light sources that last at least three times as long as standard products on the market. This saves both money and the environment, since only a third of all potential light source replacements are needed. The environmental impact is reduced by two thirds when it comes to production, transportation, and waste, etc.

The future-oriented environmental work has a high priority in Karlskrona municipality, and the municipality is a member of SEkom – the association of Swedish eco-municipalities. They have chosen to purchase the Long Life version of Aura’s high-pressure sodium lamps for use in street lighting. The lamps have a guaranteed service life of 12 years, which means that the maintenance costs and environmental impact are both reduced dramatically. The replacement costs for lighting in very highly-trafficked areas are high.

"It is great that Karlskrona municipality, which is very environmentally aware, has chosen our Aura Sodinette Long Life for street lighting, particularly as our background is in Karlskrona," comments Martin Malmros, CEO and Group Director Aura Light International AB.
