Aura introduces new environmental symbol for Long Life
Stockholm, 10 June 2008
Aura, the lighting company, is introducing a new environmental symbol for Long Life light sources in order to make it easier for users to choose environmentally friendly products. The figure in the symbol shows the number of times the product lasts longer than standard light sources.
Aura supplies Long Life light sources that are guaranteed to last at least three times as long as standard products on the market. As a result, customers can save both money and the environment, since only a third of all potential light source replacements are still needed. In addition, the environmental impact is reduced to a third when it comes to production, transportation, and waste, etc.
The symbol with the figure 3 means that the number of burning hours is approximately three times greater than for the corresponding standard product on the market. The figure 4 means that the number of burning hours is four times greater and the figure 5 that burning hours are increased fivefold.
The symbol makes it easier to choose a light source that maximises service life and minimises the impact on the environment.
The symbol will be placed on all Long Life packages and products.
