New technical development - The ultimate long-life fluorescent lamp sets new standards

A Swedish manufacturer of long-life fluorescent lamps has succeeded in increasing the service life of its lamps even further with its brand new in-house development, for which they have applied for a patent. 

The new “Aura Ultimate” guarantees a service life of 46,000 hours with a conventional or low loss ballast  (KVG/VVG) and 60,000 hours with an electronic ballast (EVG). This means an increase in the burn time of the current long-life Aura lamps by a additional 50%. The prototype will be presented for the first time at the international trade fair for architecture and technology "Light+Building".

“From the first time we  invented long-life fluorescent lamps we have worked to establish the Long Life Concept in the lighting market.  Our continuous drive has been to introduce more and more quality improvements and to develop new and innovative products.  Increasing cost-pressures from the user as well as a growing quality and environmental awareness set the parameters that motivate us to offer products with the highest level of efficiency, reliability and safety.  With the invention of these ultimate long-life fluorescent lamps we are setting new standards,” is how Svante Lundbrink, president of the Aura Light Group, sets out the ambitious targets of the company.  “The benefits to customers are clear for all to see.  The increase in burn time enables highly efficient operation of lighting systems.  The ongoing costs of purchasing, replacement and disposal are no longer incurred, while the operational life increases many times over – which means immense savings!”

Other new developments presented by Aura at "Light+Building" include brand new models from the long-life T5 family of products: T5 High Output, T5 Thermo (for use in low temperature environments), T5 Protector (splinter protected), T5 Reflector (with internal reflector and thermal function).
