Aura Light international winner of the 2015 SEAD Global Efficiency Medal Competition

The Swedish lighting company Aura Light has won the international competition for the world’s most energy efficient office lighting SEAD Global Efficiency Medal Competition in the category planar luminaires. The winning product is the LED panel Aura Lunaria.

The Super-efficient Equipment and Appliance Deployment (SEAD) Initiative of the Clean Energy Ministerial launched its fourth Global Efficiency Medal competition on 12 May 2014, recognizing highly energy-efficient lighting products. Now the winners have been chosen and Aura Light received the international Global Efficiency Medal in the category planar luminaires and the regional awards for Australia and Europe. The award ceremony took place in Lucerne in Switzerland at the Energy Efficiency in Domestic Appliances and Lighting conference on 26th of August. Several member governments are involved in SEAD. Energy Agency and Government Offices of Sweden are representing Sweden.

─ We are honored to receive the 2015 SEAD Global Efficiency Medal. This is a prestigious acknowledgement of our strategic focus on sustainable lighting solutions. This high-quality LED panel creates the right atmosphere and can help to reduce the energy consumption by about 50% depending on the old installation, says Martin Malmros, CEO Aura Light International AB.

The winning product is a low profile ceiling grid and display LED solution, called Aura Lunaria. The LED panel is used in standard commercial ceiling grids; typically to replace standard 600 mm x 600 mm fluorescent luminaires. It is used for offices, schools, hospitals and other commercial applications.
