Aura Light delivers sustainable lighting to Scandic Hotels

Scandic Hotels, Scandinavia’s largest hotel chain, has entered an agreement with the Swedish lighting company Aura Light to provide them with sustainable lighting in their hotels. The agreement spans over three years and has an estimated value of around 15 million SEK. This is an important step in Scandic Hotel’s sustainability work and it will help them to reduce their energy consumption significantly.

When Scandic Hotels started the process of selecting a lighting partner, their objective was to find a flexible partner who could help them to find the right lighting solution according to their environmental and technical requirements. They wanted high quality lighting, a wide LED product range, a high service level and a sustainable approach.

– We chose Aura Light because they are flexible as a company, they have a strong sales and service network and a well-functioning distribution, especially in the Nordic countries. Sustainability was an important aspect for us when choosing lighting supplier as well as a broad assortment of products, especially different types of LED solutions. Aura Light fulfilled those requirements, says Inger Mattsson, Director Sustainable Business, Scandic Hotels.

The products that are being delivered to Scandic Hotels are LED retrofit light sources, Long Life compact fluorescent light sources and LED down lights, amongst others. This will replace current lighting, and will help Scandic Hotels to maximize their energy savings and reduce their maintenance costs significantly.

– We are very proud Scandic Hotels chose our solutions to improve their lighting in all of their hotels. Scandic Hotels are acknowledged for their sustainability work and it’s an honor to cooperate with them on this mutual challenge, says Martin Malmros, CEO Aura Light International AB.

Scandic Hotels is Scandinavia’s largest hotel chain. It has recently acquired Rica Hotels, an addition of 72 hotels. This means that Scandic Hotels has almost 230 hotels in 8 countries and that the chain is represented in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Poland.
